School Choice (Voucher)

Blackhawk Christian School participates in the School Choice program for the State of Indiana that is commonly known as the voucher program for grades K-12. This program provides scholarships (vouchers) to eligible K-12 students by utilizing a portion of the state funds allocated for that child to follow them to the non-public school of their choice.

Eligibility Requirements
2024-2025 School Year
In accordance with IC 20-51 and IAC 512 (4), to be eligible to receive a Choice Scholarship award, a student must satisfy each of the following requirements:
  • The student must have legal settlement in Indiana;
  • The student must be at least five (5) years of age and less than 22 years of age on or before October 1 of the school year;
  • The student must be a member of a household with an annual income of not more than 400% of the amount required for the individual to qualify for the federal free or reduced price lunch program.

Kindergarten Enrollment / Lottery Priorities / Acceptance:

 

Application must include all of the pieces noted above.  Once the completed application is received, students will go into the following priority list:

  1. Children of BCS/BM Employees
  2. Siblings of current K-12 BCS Students
  3. Children of BCS Alumni/Preschool Academy KR Students
  4. Children with no current connection with BCS "full paying students"
  5. Children with no current connection with BCS "Tuition Assistance"

1st-11th* Acceptance / Enrollment / Lottery Priorities:

  1. Currently enrolled students– during continuous enrollment window only
  2. New students of BCS Full-Time Employees
  3. New students of BHM  Full-Time Pastoral Staff
  4. Siblings of currently enrolled “full paying students” students who applied the previous year.
  5. Siblings of currently enrolled “full paying students” who have not previously applied.
  6. Siblings of currently enrolled “Tuition Assistance” students (including SGO/ Voucher) who applied the previous year.
  7. Siblings of currently enrolled “Tuition Assistance” students (including SGO/Voucher) who have not previously applied.
  8. BCS Alumni: “full paying” student who applied the previous year.
  9. BCS Alumni: ‘full paying” student who have not previously applied
  10. BCS Alumni: “Tuition Assistance” students (including SGO/Voucher) who applied the previous year.
  11. BCS Alumni: “Tuition Assistance” students (including SGO/Voucher) who have not previously applied.
