School Board

The school board consists of up to nine (9) members, six of whom are members of Blackhawk Ministries Church. Board members serve three-year terms up to a maximum of six years in succession. The board chairman is a Blackhawk Ministries member and is appointed by the Blackhawk Ministries Elder Board. The school board meets monthly and is responsible for setting the policy of the school and for the performance of the lead administrator. School board members have authority as members only as they meet together as a board. Correspondence for the school board should be directed to the school board chairman or the head of schools.

Andy KlineBoard Chairman Andy Kline is married to Candee and they have three children Hailee and Emalee, BCS alumni, and Karson, 6th grade. They are active members in Blackhawk Ministries, serving in a variety of ways. Andy and Candee own businesses including Lime City Propane and For Goodness Cakes. Andy was raised in a Christian home, but really became committed to serving Christ in his early 20's when his father passed away. Andy believes that we exist to be the hands and feet of Christ and is most happy when serving Him. Andy and Candee send their kids to BCS because they believe in the foundation of how the school was started and what BCS continues to believe in and practice.   

 

 

April HerrmannApril Herrmann joined the school board in 2022. April is a BCS Alumni and attended Cedarville University for her undergraduate degree. She received her MBA from Liberty University. April works for Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana as a Capstone Coordinator for JA Finance Park. She was previously employed by BHM for 9 years in youth ministry and by BCS in various roles in the Intermediate school office along with lunch/recess duty. She is an active volunteer for the BCS auction and other event-oriented activities. She is married to Daniel and has two children who attend BCS, Cooper and Emme. April and her family attend and serve at Blackhawk Ministries.

 

 

Rick HulsRick Huls joined the school board as the Elder representative in 2021. Rick is a retired music teacher.  He taught 40 years at Jefferson Middle School.  Rick has coached and officiated in volleyball, and also coached track. Rick and his wife, Sheri attend and serve at Blackhawk Ministries. They are staff volunteers for Turning Point Ministries and David Jeremiah.  Rick has two adult daughters, Pam and Peg, who both attended Blackhawk Christian School.

 

 

 

 

 

Craig LeichtyCraig Leichty joined the board in August, 2020. He is the Controller at Do it Best Corp. Craig received his Bachelor of Science degree from Taylor University majoring in Accounting / Systems. In addition, he has earned his CPA designation. Craig and his family worship and serve at Emmanuel Community Church, where he has been involved in Upwards Basketball and currently serves as part of the offering counting team. He has also had the opportunity to participate in Leadership Fort Wayne. Craig previously served as a board member at the Power House Youth Center. Craig and his wife, Laura, believe in the positive impact and value of Christian education for students and families. They have one daughter, Leena, is a Senior at BCS. 

 

 

Francois Mikobi

 

Francois Mikobi joined the board in August of 2022. He is an electrical engineer and project manager at Cummins, Incorporated, and the Lead Pastor at the International Restoration Church. His wife, Salima, also serves as the worship and children’s ministry leader at the church. Francois and Salima have four children, Deborah, Blessing, Isaiah and Elijah who attend Blackhawk Christian School.

 

 

 

 

 

Andy Parker

 

Andy Parker joined the school board in 2023. He is a financial advisor at Phillips Financial. Andy attended Marquette University and acquired a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Andy and his wife, Angie, are members at Emmanuel Community Church and serve as small group leaders. In addition, Andy serves various other organizations in the community that serve the Lord. Andy and Angie have three children, Kensley and Lainey, who attend BCS, and Brooks who is a future Brave.

 

 

 

 

Sarah Quick

Sarah Quick is a Clinical Pharmacist, PharmD, with Lutheran Health Physicians and joined the board in 2023. Sarah is a BCS Alumna and received her PharmD at Purdue University. She feels BCS did an excellent job preparing her for a secular university and ultimately her career.  Sarah desires her children experience the same academic efforts with a God honoring foundation at BCS.  Sarah and her husband, Micah, are members and very active at Blackhawk Ministries and serve in various ways. Sarah and Micah have two children who attend BCS, Silas and Abigail.

 

 

Ashlaine ZimmermanAshlaine Zimmerman is a Purdue University graduate with a degree in Early Childhood Education, and joined the school board in 2024.  She taught Kindergarten and First grade for 4 years before staying home with her children.  The Zimmerman family moved here from Alaska five years ago.  Since returning to Indiana, she has been working as a business manager at Fort Wayne Prosthodontics. Ryan and Ashlaine are members at Blackhawk Ministries, and have three children, Makara, Kinley and Coye who all attend BCS.  

 
 
 
 

Mark Richard is a sales engineer at Innovative Control SysMark Richardtems and joined the school board in 2024. Mark graduated from Huntington College. He serves with Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is also the boys tennis coach at BCS. Mark and his wife, Alicia, are members of Blackhawk Ministries and have four children, Riley, Quinton, Reese and Sullivan, who attend BCS.
