After graduating from North Side High School (a few years behind my good friend Joel Guthrie), I finished my bachelor's at IPFW then added my education degree in Biology and Mathematics at The University of Saint Francis. I was fortunate to teach 15 years at Wayne High School and learned so much about effective teaching and relationship-building from my peers there and the professional development I received from FWCS! In 2013, Joel contacted me about an opening at BCS to teach mathematics. I have been blessed to teach at Blackhawk since that fall. I have always loved the classroom - and being able to share my faith openly with students, pray together and read God's word in class has truly made the classroom at BCS the best job I have ever had!
My Wife, Heather, and I have been married for nearly 26years. She is an amazing ELL (english language learner) teacher at Northcrest Elementary and we have been fortunate to share this career together and the common work schedule of each school year. Our daughter, Grace, graduated in June 2020 from Blackhawk. Our son, Jonathan, is currently a sophomore at Blackhawk. Bringing my children to BCS has undoubtedly been the greatest compensation I could have ever hoped for from my coming to teach here!
