I was born and raised in Fort Wayne. At the age of eleven a friend explained that Jesus could be my savior. I accepted Christ into my life and have walked with Him ever since. After high school, I attended Taylor University where I studied Christian Education. Little did I know that God was preparing me to be a teacher. I worked as a youth pastor for two years in Huntington where I met my husband, Trent. By 1991 we had two children, Ashley and Taylor, and I was studying Elementary Education at IPFW. Our third child, Aaron, was born just before I began teaching First Grade at Fort Wayne Christian School. I never thought I could love another school as much as I loved Fort Wayne Christian, but God always knows. The door closed at FWC and He led me straight to Blackhawk. It didn’t take long to fall in love with the families and staff at BCS. In 2009, Trent and I brought our daughter Roselyn home from the Philippines. Trent and I are blessed to have eleven grandchildren. If you see us out and about, I am the one with the camera strapped over my shoulder taking way too many pictures.
I hope that your family loves Blackhawk as much as my family has. I pray that your child will hear the Good News about Jesus Christ, choose to follow Him, and go tell the world that Jesus loves them.
