Matt Harmon
My name is Matt Harmon, and I am Blackhawk Christian alumnus. Between stints as a student, and now a Social Studies teacher and baseball coach here at BCS, I went to school at Indiana Wesleyan University, taught and coached at South Side High School, and was an instructor at the World Baseball Academy. When not at school, I love spending time with friends and family and watching sports.
Returning to BCS was at first a surreal experience. Many of my former teachers were now colleagues. Mr. Kowatch even insisted that I call him "Jeff". (Many years later, I still struggle to call him Jeff) It wasn't long, however, before I recognized what a special place this was to work. BCS colleagues and BCS families have had a tremendous impact on me personally. I am incredibly humbled and grateful to be a part of this community.
All of my family carries a deep passion for this place. Both of my brothers and my sister-in-law are faculty here, and all of my children, nieces, and nephews attend school here. We LOVE Blackhawk Christian School.
My wife, Teri, and I have two boys. Jonathan (Johnny) and Ezekiel (Zeke). We attend Brookside Church where Teri is on staff. As my children grow older and I have become not only a staff member, but also a BCS parent, I have come to appreciate this place even more. Every teacher, from the preschool through the high school, cares deeply for our students and families. When it comes to training minds AND hearts, you could not ask for a better partner.
